Morecambe Bay Walk 2022
About
Join us on a spectacular walk led by the Queen’s Guide over Sands, Michael Wilson for an unforgettable 7/8 mile walk across the UKs largest expanse of sand and tidal mudflats, so it's no ordinary walk.
The walk is on varied terrain including sections of sand, shingle, pebbles, rock and salt marsh. The last part of the walk over the salt marsh involves crossing gullies, these can be quite wide and slippery. This challenging walk takes about four hours depending on the route. The walk involves crossing two river channels which are cold and sometimes fast flowing. The height of the river is usually between knee and thigh deep.

Who can take part:
All walkers must be reasonably fit and able to walk 10 miles. There are some sections that are slippery and tricky to manoeuvre so walkers need to be agile enough to get across.
Parents should assess whether the walk is suitable for their children. It is advisable that the walk is not suitable for children under eleven years old unless they are used to reasonably strenuous walks and able to negotiate the river channels. The walk is difficult and it may be tough to carry children if they become tired.
Under 16’s should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Dogs are allowed for a fee of £1 paid on the day.

This year is our 30th Birthday! In honour of this we have set the fundraising target at £3,000.
Every penny that we raise goes directly to funding essential items for our young people such as food, clothing, college equipment, electricity, therapy sessions, social activities and outings. All this is important in forging positive outcomes for our young people who have faced many challenges in their life.
