The Headmaster's Lecture Series - Tim Marshall
About
As part of our academic enrichment programme, we are introducing the ‘Headmaster’s Lecture Series’, in which we invite inspiring and thought-provoking speakers to expose our students to fascinating topics ranging across the academic sphere, and beyond the confines of the normal curriculum.
We are delighted to welcome Tim Marshall, British journalist, broadcaster and bestselling author who has written and reported widely on foreign affairs, international diplomacy and post-war geopolitics. He started his broadcasting career at LBC and reported for the BBC, before moving onto Sky News, where he worked as a longstanding Foreign Affairs Editor and subsequently their Diplomatic Editor. In his two decades at Sky News, he reported from over thirty countries, covering the events of twelve wars and various conflicts.
In 2015, Marshall published Prisoners of Geography – an international bestseller that was adapted for younger audiences in 2019 as Prisoners of Geography: Our World Explained in 12 Simple Maps. His other works include Worth Dying For (2016), Divided (2018), Shadowplay (2019) and The Power of Geography (2021).
