Tending The Wounds - Lake District Weekend Retreat
About
Calling Black Bodies, Hearts, and Minds to a weekend of guided re-remembering, recovery, and internal resource building. Two days dedicated to soothing the wounds of racial trauma, known and unknown, that act against your wellbeing, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.Your guide Rowan Carr will offer authentic practices from his long-term cross-cultural spiritual practice and study, though rooted in his Black/African heritage and embodiment.
You will be empowered to recognise the impacts of racism on your body and nervous system. From there, you will learn somatic (body led) recovery, enabling you to heal and build resilience. Together we will learn tools for ourselves and future generations.
You will share a healing space with other Black bodies outside of the ‘White gaze’, where you can express yourself without judgment or fear and participate in Black body rites of passage, lost in transportation, but reclaimed in new shifts towards emotional emancipation.
