Open Capoeira workshop for all levels with Tali Griner
About
Come and try capoeira - a Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, dance, acrobatics, music and spirituality. Born of the melting pot of enslaved Africans, Indigenous Brazilians and Portuguese influences at the beginning of the 16th century, Capoeira is a constantly evolving art form.
All welcome - children and adults of all ages! Free - donations welcome: this is part of our series of events honouring Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira, who were murdered in Brazilian Amazonia, and all contributions will go to the indigenous defenders of the rain forest.
After this class at 5 p.m. at Halton Mill is the launch of the exhibition and the whole month's programme of activities with Dom Phillips' sister Sian Phillips, Pete Moser, and Brazilian music and food. Please let us know when you book if you can stay for that too.
