Battle of Britain Event
About
Join us for a presentation, including film footage, to explain the build up to, and the dire consequences of failure for Britain and its allies and the reasons why the RAF were successful in defeating the German Air Force in the Battle of Britain in 1940.This will be followed by experts from BAE systems who will tell us more about the RAF’s current fighter aircraft (the Typhoon) and the future fighter ‘system’ (Tempest).
The RAF then, now and tomorrow...
FYI Saturday 9th September, a memorial service and parade will be held at 13:00 hours at the Cenotaph/Flag Market in Preston City Centre where we will honour the memory of the brave men and women who defended our skies. A real, full size Spitfire aircraft will be on display on the market throughout the day courtesy of Hangar 42. This will be followed by a concert on the market, singing all the favourites to suit all generations, young and old.
